Mimulus dance company performed at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in 2012.

"Mesquita and his Mimulus dance company ought to be bottled and sold as elixir." --The New York Times

Led by Artistic Director Jomar Mesquita, Mimulus lit up the stage with an exciting blend of samba, contemporary dance, and imaginative visual design. This beloved dance company opened the 2012 season with the U.S. premiere of Por Um Fio (By a Thread), inspired by the life and work of unique visual artist Arthur Bispo do Rosário.

Dancers interact with an ingenious graffiti-adorned backdrop of fabric, thread, and lights, performing to an energetic collage of Latin-influenced music. Mimulus dancers are masters of sensational partnering, spins, and lifts, and their joyous movement leaves audiences wanting more.

Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and recipient of the prestigious National Medal of Arts. To learn more about the Pillow: http://www.jacobspillow.org/
