A rare documentary film of how my father, Don Freeman, created the children's book, "Inspector Peckit." Filmed in 1971 by Larry Klingman for Churchill films, you will see that it is not always easy! Here is the real story, showing how Don wrestled with the story, the moments of creativity and apprehension (will my editor and children will it?, his vulnerability to criticism, the creative spark, the meeting with the editor (here Velma Varner from Viking -Penguin), how his wife Lydia supported and was a part of the artistic creation. You see the showman Don, the artist Don, and even a real special treat, the musician Don - playing the trumpet (cornet)! Check out the FB group "Don Freeman, Artist" and www.donfreeman.info for more details.
