When Remus saw his friend Smokey nearly drown in a backyard pool in Arizona, he didn't hesitate for a moment to step in and save his four-legged friend. Laurie Sorsen Becerra, who posted the on Facebook two weeks ago, says Smokey isn't a good swimmer and the two "rambunctious" dogs — who play around the pool all the time with no mishaps — must have gotten to the pool unsupervised through a fence.
Dramatic surveillance footage in Mesa shows Smokey struggling to keep his head above water. Alarmed, Remus frantically paces back and forth at the edge of the pool and does what he can to help. But his owner was inside and didn't know what was happening.
Smokey tries to get out of the pool, but is unable to pull himself out. That's when his friend springs into action.
Remus jumps into the pool and swims under Smokey to push him up and out of the water. Smokey is then finally able to pull himself onto the sidewalk and shake out his water-logged coat.
Remus then runs over to greet his friend. The owner reviewed the footage after noticing Smokey was soaking wet.
