There are those who believe in Santa answering mail, and those who believe in answering Santa's mail. In a tradition that began in 1930, in a small rural town on the Kentucky border, Santa and his volunteer elves answer nearly 30,000 letters each year, all in red ink, each with a personal postscript that teaches a lesson.
