Taibuk village is located in Taksindu VCD-5 in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal - about 80 mi (or 129 km) East of Kathmandu, the country's capital. It is a rural and mountainous region. This village is not on any of the popular trekking routes and the villagers are very poor. TARA Foundation USA provided funding for 3900 meters of high quality PVC pipe and water holding tanks to provide clean water for the people of this region. Prior to the installation of the new pipes and holding tank, the only water for this region ran into a well from a mountain spring. The well was full of mud, sludge and bacteria. Now the villagers of Taibuk have clean drinking water that is free of mud and bacteria.

The MISSION of the TARA FOUNDATION USA is to improve the lives of people living in the Himalaya and help them to preserve their traditional culture.
