In April 2012, Richard Causton joined the European Union Youth Orchestra during their rehearsal residency in Interlaken, Switzerland, to work with them on his new piece, Twenty-Seven Heavens, which will be premiered in the UK at the Edinburgh International Festival on 23rd August, at the Usher Hall.

Twenty-Seven Heavens, the EUYO's first commission, is one of 20 pieces specially commissioned to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics, as part of the PRS for Music Foundation's New Music 20x12.

On Sunday 15th July, Richard Causton will present his work with the EUYO at the South Bank, in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, between 10am and 11am. Entrance is free. For further details, visit the South Bank website: http://ticketing.southbankcentre.co.u...

New Music 20x12 is a UK-wide commissioning programme initiated by Jillian Barker and David Cohen, and delivered by PRS for Music Foundation in partnership with BBC Radio 3, London 2012 and NMC Recordings. See www.prsformusicfoundation.com for more information.
