A three-year-old boy narrowly escaped serious injury when one of his fingers was stuck in a disused round lock.

According to CCTV, the incident happened Sunday night at around 23:00 at a home in Quanzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province.

The boy, Mingming, was playing with the lock when his parents were out of the room. One of his fingers got stuck in the small hole of the lock.

The loop of the lock gradually cut off blood circulation of the finger, which began to swell.

Firefighters immediately rushed to the scene upon the parent's call and sawed through the lock while using water to cool it down. After over 40 minutes, the boy's finger was freed.

Thanks to timely rescue efforts of the firefighters, the boy only suffered skin injuries. Firefighters say otherwise, the damage might have been much more severe.
