Taiwan Water Corporation and Taiwan Power Company today announced the results of the first-ever lottery draw for water and electricity bill receipts, with more than 58,000 winners across Taiwan. Prizes topped out at NT$2 million for electricity customers, and NT$1 million for water customers. Uniform invoices issued for water bill payments are eligible to win these cash prizes, but the original copies themselves are necessary for redemption.Wen Hui-huiTaiwan Water CorporationReceipts for the current period are printed with last period’s numbers. If somebody has a receipt with winning numbers then they are eligible for prizes, but they must redeem their prize using the original receipt itself.In the inaugural lottery drawing this year, over 58,000 water and electricity customers won prizes with a total value of NT$23 million. An individual from Kaohsiung who paid a water bill of NT$677 won this period’s top prize.Wen Hui-huiTaiwan Water CorporationThe largest prize of about NT$1 million was collected by someone from Lingya District in Kaohsiung.Water and electricity authorities in Taiwan have already mailed out written notices to prizewinners reminding them to bring the notice to a convenience store and print out a confirmation form, which can then be redeemed at any post office.
