On August 22, 2012, a robot built by members of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics teams in Michigan delivered a "FIRST" pitch to a sold-out crowd at a Detroit Tigers baseball game. The inaugural "Robots in the D" event at Comerica Park featured demos of the FIRST family of robotics programs, over 1000 FIRST teams members and sponsors in attendance and a FIRST promo on the huge hi-def video screen!
