Did you know that Caesarea was an ancient port city built by King Herod the Great? It was created to honor the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus.

It became the capital of the Roman province of Judea because of its strategic and economic importance.

In Caesarea Peter baptized the first Gentile followers of Jesus — The Roman Centurion Cornelius and his family. (Acts 10)

From this city the apostle Paul departed on his many journeys to the gentile lands to proclaim the gospel.

“I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” Acts 13:47
