The Trifecta Resista nonviolent protest/action against the use of drones at Whiteman Airforce Base on April 15, 2012. The speakers included prominent peace activist Kathy Kelly, a phone-in from Col. Ann Wright, Brian Terrell, and Ron Faust. The demonstrators brought balloons and kites as a parody to the drones activity at Whiteman. 175 balloons were released to represent the 175 children killed by US drones in Pakistan. Three people were arrested as a part of the action.
During the demonstration, Kathy Kelly is the woman on the megaphone speaking and leading the group in the chant "For you a thousand times over." This phrase is a greeting of well-wishing used in Afghanistan.
The Trifecta Resista was a weekend of nonviolence training and resistance against three prominent sites of militarism and nuclear weapons production around Kansas City. These three sites are Leavenworth where Bradley Manning was held for several months, the new NNSA nuclear weapons facility in south Kansas City, Missouri, and Whiteman AFB where drones are flown and drone pilots are trained. The event was supported and/or attended by Col. Ann Wright, Kathy Kelly, Pace e Bene, PeaceWorks, KC Peace Planters, Vets For Peace, AFSC-KC, Loretto Peace & Justice Network, the Catholic Worker Movement, OccupyKC, Mid-MO Peace Coalition, and other peace activists from around the Midwest.
