It'd be appreciated if you take the time to read this. Might help answer some questions and/or explain some elements.
Bit of back story that might help you understand this more. Atlas is the Greek 'Titan' who holds the Earth up on his shoulders for eternity. The mountain in the background is Mount Olympus, the home of the younger 'Gods', who were the ones who imprisoned Atlas. The hole in the sky is a combination of a few things. First, there is a very transparent eye in there, which is part Zeus, God of the Sky and leader of the Gods keeping track of him, and Kronos, the leader of the Titans. It is also a whirlpool/vortex, representing the disarray and chaos that would happen if Atlas ever found the strength to just shrug off the world. I am interested in continuing this Greek mythology theme, let me know in the comments.
My idea was somewhat inspired by reading the novel of the same name. Although I am much more literal about it, the themes behind the two are similar.
