The music was taped live at Ned Kelly's Last Stand located at Tsim Sha Tsui, 11a Ashley Road, Hong Kong during the summer of 1981 by Steve James, The sound is not digital quality but I have had the cassette's containing these recordings for over twenty years and they have been played on a regular basis, however they contain some incredible playing from all of the musicians involved. Personally I think Red solo that starts around 3:10 is stratospheric.

The Musicians are Dennis James,(Vocals Piano), Red Price, (Tenor Sax), Benny Ligon, (Trumpet), Ding Basbas, (alto Sax) and Rudi, (Drums).

The Video contains the following images all taken of the bandstand at The Ned Kelly's Last Stand,

Image01 If you look to the central music stand you will see a silhouette; this was placed on the stand about a month before Red arrived in Hong Kong. The sax player on the stand is a Filipino called Ding Basbas, Red thought the same way as all of us at Ned's Ding was a phenomenal player, I personally thought that he Drove Red to some of his best playing. The drummer at the back is called Rudi his second name escapes me.

Image02 I cannot remember the name of the guy on the left he was a depp used when one of the main players had a night off. Obviously you recognize Red, this was his standard facial expression in Ned's always happy. The guy on the right is the bands MD Benny Ligon, one of the most respected trumpet players in Asia; Rudi is in the background.

Image03 Red is on the left, Benny in the middle and the guy on the right is Terry Martin, he worked behind the bar, however on request he take the stage and wipe the audience out with his own version of I'm Beginning to see the Light, in saying that Red used to sing a self decomposed version of Benny's from Heaven which also brought the house down.

Image04 Is Red concentrating and listening very hard to Benny in full flight, Red normally took the solo after him. This band played 5 forty-minute sets between 09:00pm and 02:00am six nights a week 52 two weeks of the year; they produced an incredible amount of music.

Images 06/07/08 are Red with Lord Rockingham's XI and of Red himself.
