Kiev or Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, is an incredible city we fell in love with almost immediately! Firstly, it is so incredibly beautiful! Secondly there is just so much to do and see. There's UNESCO sites and amazing churches like St Sofia's Church, St Andrew's and the fascinating Pechersk Lavra -with its caves. This all add up to make Kiev/Kyiv one of the coolest places in Europe.
And all of that isn't even the end of it, there's museums like the Chernobyl museum and the toilet museum (which didn't make the edit, sadly) a beautiful puppetry theatre and a really funky looking mosaic Park,. Although we didn't visit Chernobyl (there are extremely expensive tours there, and prices to Chernobyl have shot up after the TV show about the Chernobyl disaster), we still learnt a lot about the place.
We also ate so so well - there is just so much vegan choice, it's a bit of a vegan haven! We found Vegan Boom a whole area full of vegan stalls and restaurants, ate amazing burgers at Green 13 and cool soup at Soup Culture. Being Vegan in Ukraine has to be one of the easiest places in the whole of Eastern Europe, and we barely even started with all the vegan options here! We also drank traditional Kvas and less traditional coffee and orange.
Honestly, Kiev/Kyiv is a city not to miss!
