I got one of the early ones, mine was plagued with problems and I haven't used it in a long time. Other ppl have had their problems too... but then I've seen other ppl yet that have had perfectly working order chinese hoes too. I haven't heard much lately about them as a whole, whether the good vs bad ratio has improved or not.

I believe the electronics & hydraulics have been improved since I bought my hk hoe last summer, but I stil read on occassion of some one getting one plagued with problems.. How knowledgeable are you with tinkering with radio controlled? If you're not mechanically/electronic able, then I wouldn't recommend it to you.
lilbandit85
would you recommend this as a first excavator for the price?
Joey Broadston
why dose it sound retarded

i agree, i have been using a 12v 5000mah batt and it runs good for an hour or so. i have 4 of these batteries(i really like to dig) so i keep them charging while the others are in use.

@diggingwithmartin It's connected directly to the batt leads. 3s lipo @11.1-12.6v is too slow. Something I'm going to do soon is put a belt reduction between the pump & b/l motor. Then perhaps with the faster, easier turning b/l motor, it'll draw less amps & I won't need to "warm" the oil before getting smooth response. This model is difficult to operate fluently, I think I need a better radio too... shame that the DX10T Spektrum is delayed yet again to May/June.

very good operator, do you just hook the car battery to regular battery leads???? i thought about using a torque master 12v 7a battery, but thought it might damage it. please let me know how you hooked it up. check out my youtube ch " diggingwithmartin". see ya ~Martin Hough~

@LilGiantsConstrCo so the power cord that goes to the car battery, does it plug straight to the battery, and then straight to the esc? or is there something to keep the current at the right voltage, im interested in the logistics of that?
