In this video, I just wanted to quickly address one simple topic which seemingly constantly arrises when atheists talk to theists: the origin of morals in atheists. It's no real secret where atheists get their morals from. I mean, look at America. Do you really think we get our morals from the bible? If so, when was the last time it was ok to stone someone working at Walmart on a Sunday (or Saturday, depending on your interpretation)? And when was the last time you sacked the neighboring city, slaughtered its inhabitants, young and old, males, females, and children, killed their livestock, and burned the city to the ground, so as to leave their land an uninhabitable wasteland forever, all because they converted some people you knew to another religion (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)?
Yeah, me too.

Anyways, if you enjoyed this video or if you didn't like it at all, let me know in the form of a comment or like or dislike or subscription, or message! I am always delighted to discover that I am wrong, so let me have it!

Logic is not same thing as morals. btw Gandhi was a racist and also militant when he lived at South-Africa. Peaceful resistance (in india years) was his tool, since he know that it worked with british rulers.

But when you explain the logical steps, make sure you outline EXACTLY how I could get from the stance "I do not believe in a god or gods", all the way to "Therefore, because X, my lack of belief necessitates that I must kill this man". In other words, what is an action that "someone who lacks belief" MUST perform, or at least be motivated to perform, simply by not believing in a god or gods?

Problems: 1. Jesus was killed by the Jews. In fact, it was the Pharisees that pushed for his death and brought him before Pontius Pilot. The only reason he was killed was because the Jews decided to crucify Jesus and let Barabbas free. 2. "Atheist leftists"? "always"? I'm atheist, and somewhat on the left, and I would hate to shoot anyone, for any reason... 3. Your scenario is lacking, to say the least. So because you and I were without food, I would kill you? Explain each logical step clearly.

I hope you don't mind if I step in? The point I think both Dalbert342 and I are trying to make is that 1. There is a lot of glorified human sacrifice in Christianity, namely the focus of Christian belief - Jesus' death. And 2. Even if all atheists view people as "meat machines", this does not and cannot motivate atheists to kill others. For example, What if I thought you were a meat machine? Provide the logical incentive/thought process for me (an atheist) to kill you. Then I will be convinced.

That religion is all about glorifying human sacrifice. So you are correct, they were on crack

Woa woa, slow down there. Certain gods' existences can be disproved with logic, if they are intrinsically contradictory. These include the Jueo-Christian gods, the god of Islam, and many others too numerous to list. However, there could be infinite gods unbound by logic who exist, and so, they are free from any proof or disproof. However, science is not dogmatic. Nor subjective truth. Such a phrase itself is contradictory... Moral truths CANNOT be equated to physical truths. It's very different.

Infact your god loves a bit of human/child sacrifice. Judges 11:29-40, Deuteronomy 13:13-19, Ezekiel 21:33-37, 2 Kings 23:20-25

"Christians have "Thou shall not kill." You have "People are just meat machines". So you go by the old testament to then? Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7

Yaaaawn.... (what an used up theist-catch-phrase). First, its wrong. Citation Hitler: "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord." Second, it´s completely illogical to claim that since two bad men (out of thousands) are atheists, Atheism is the cause for their evilness. They might also both have preferred to masturbate with the left hand, you could also blame that then...
ItsEasyIfYouThink
And personally, just as a side note, I am an atheist. As an atheist, I want to say that I have never used such a crude term to describe humans. In fact, I think if you looked around, you would see that the majority of well-known atheists, like Carl Sagan, actually feel greater feelings of beauty and admiration when examining humanity, or life in general. So to say that atheists have "people are just meat machines" is grossly wrong. We have the beauty of existence and respect of fellow life.
