New Jerseyans know what the REAL Jersey Shore is like. Our shore is part of what makes New Jersey a special place and we have to do what it takes to protect it (Transcript Below)

Governor Christie: Our shore is one of the things that makes New Jersey a really special place. We have to make sure that all of us individually and me as the leader of our government in the state take responsibility for making sure we protect it. Maintaining our commitment to keeping the beach clean and keeping the water clean is integral to not only who we are as a people but also is integral to our economic future as well. We know that here in Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean Counties all up and down the Jersey Shore, 193,000 private sector jobs over $6B in wages and salaries are generated by businesses on the Jersey Shore. So we remain committed to protecting the environment here at the Shore, not only because it's part of who we are and how we grew up, but also because we know that it's key to the economic viability of our state going forward.

I'm going to take a walk on the boardwalk and go and visit some of the businesses and meet with some of the folks and maybe even venture onto the beach if they'll let me.
I want you all to know that I was born here and I was raised in this state and I spent my entire life here and I brought Mary Pat here kicking and screaming twenty-six years ago from Pennsylvania to New Jersey, and this is where we're raising our four kids. But there is something really special that is difficult to describe to people that weren't born and raised here about going to the same places with your children that you went to as a child with your parents and of feeling that sense of community and a sense of what makes New Jersey an extraordinarily special place.

@VONRAT I know Christie revoked a bill or something that was gonna give MTV 250k or something for taping the jersey shore. Still while that show has lots of non jersey people on it. It has place NJ back on the map again. Yeah it means NJ becomes over crowded an the beach gets filled up with people not from jersey but eh better than hearing Jersey being the butt of every joke in a movie set in NYC or something. Plus those that hate us because of that show just wish they were in Jersey.
VONRAT
@codecmgs it's more of a rumor. I havent checked up on it on a while, I'm not really that obsessed about Jersey Shore being cancelled
codecmgs
What do fraud and Christie have in common? They are both fake! I maybe only one Jersey boy but Christie you have 8 million to answer to. You will pay. You greedy overweight glob of grease.
