June 1, 2013, Spartan Sprint at Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center in New York. Sunny 90* day.

4 mile course, **** load of UP since it was bloody ski slopes. That in and of itself is quite tiring (plus the biggest obstacle of them all, really), and I finished this in a smooth 17 hours. Or somewhere along those lines. Probably. I dunno, never cared about finishing times. Plus I do a lot of camera work monkeying around eating away at the finishing time.

But I brought along a spare battery for the GoPro, and was able to record most all the obstacles. I actually cut a couple of them out, and a substantial amount of between-obstacle running (at first, until about half way through the course then it was just a steady forward walk or crawl) to keep the video short and sweet.

The barbed wire mud crawl this time was brutal. I'm not sure if there was more rocks or more mud. Rocks might have the upper hand on this one. It was long, uphill, brutal... everything you expect in a Spartan. The tricky part is when you push with your feet but you stay where you are and just shove mud back. When it's THAT muddy then a good ol' roll is in order.
