This was such a fabulous record. A crime the 7" mix isn't on CD.

This is easily the most underrated and unique single in the 80's.  Nothing before or after has sounded remotely like this.  The style is only vaguely similar the Change, Shakatak, Pieces of a dream, and Sheree Brown but in a more uptempo sense.  All of those artists were making remarkable music around this time but this is a 3 minute standout that should have been huge. I'm sure Swing out Sister have a copy?  As their more famous and subsequent, "Breakout" captures elements of tight jazzy horns over  a R&B groove.
Thanks to Top of the Pops 1984 on BBC4 for bringing this back to my attention. I definitely won't forget it again.

This was on the Tony Blackburn Soul Factory Album around 1984 and that's how I discovered it. I used to give it a spin on pirate stations back in the day. I searched for it for years and when it couldn't even be found on those early days of the internet, however I was also searching for it thinking it was Lisa and Co for some reason. Just a fantastic song that really deserved to do much better but it's true classic.
Great track.
