NOTE: This battle usually has the regular Johto trainer music, but I've used a code for this video that swaps the music to the Johto Gym Leader/E4 music instead.
This is probably one of the more difficult battles in the game, particuarly due to the fact both Clair and Lance use Pokémon from their rematch teams in this battle, meaning Lance's levels at 68/68/75 are likely to be far and above yours. Luckily, three of the Pokémon in this battle have an Ice-type weakness, and two to Electric. Kingdra again strikes with near no weakness, though at least this time I do actually have a dragon move to hit it with. Of course, I ended up using something else anyway.
The rival was utterly useless in this, and always is in this battle unless he happens to have Feraligatr. Due to how bad he was I went ahead and just Discharged and Surfed the whole stretch. Gyarados went down relatively easy, or SHOULD have if my plan didn't go completely awry. What I wanted to happen was Gengar to use Sludge Bomb on Gyarados to take it into KO range of Blizzard, but of course Blizzard misses it entirely and Gengar uses Sludge Bomb on the wrong one e.e
Charizard and Kingdra were a formidable pair. I'm particuarly happy I got a paralyze on Kingdra from Discharge, and Lanturn's Water/Electric moves were enough to take down Charizard; then sending out Heracross who just survived the assault from Dragonite to knock out Kingdra was quite a nice turn. Then you get Clair's own Dragonite, and the ridiculous Dragonite duo begins. Draco Meteor wasn't even a problem because it can't restore its Special Attack in any way, so it's actually a lot less dangerous than it was in the first round due to the lack of Outrage. Had Blizzard not missed so many times and Protect not stopped me hitting Clair's Dragonite, this might have been over a fair bit quicker.
Finishing off the battle with my own Dragonite was a nice touch, I think. While I did get lucky Draco Meteor missed, since Dragonite's Special Attack was now a third of the norm, I didn't feel my 'Nite was in any danger of being knocked out anyway.
Now I can do all the leader rematches; had to do this one to get Clair to appear so I can get her phone number.
