Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in front of White House on Sunday, demanding an end to US financial aid to Israel as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) policy conference kicked off in Washington DC.

Jewish Orthodox believers, anti-Zionist campaigners, and human rights activists rallied outside the seat of the US president. Holding speeches, coordinator of the ANSWER coalition Brian Becker accused the US of giving "four billion dollars each year, for what, repression and occupation against the Palestinian people."

The rally then moved to the site of the AIPAC conference, booing at attendees while raising Palestinian flags. Miko Pellet, an Israeli author said that "Politicians are sold to the AIPAC lobby in order to fulfill their political agenda".

The AIPAC policy conference is the largest gathering of America's pro-Israel lobbying group. The conference will see keynote speeches by American and Israeli leaders, including Clinton. Over 15,000 pro-Israel US citizens are expected to attend the conference, as well as an estimated two-thirds of Congress and 3,600 students from over 630 campuses.
