Trooper, a 100 lb. German Shepard, the day he picked up his Eddie's Wheels cart. Trooper has DM, so his cart is engineered as a variable balance - with a removable step-in saddle. As the disease progresses to the front legs, the balance of the cart can be adjusted to compensate for weakness in the forelimbs. Eddie's Wheels designs this cart to allow owners to respond to their dog's increasing weakness by simply unscrewing the wheels and moving them forward as dogs lose core strength and grow weak in the front legs. What is DM? Degenerative Myelopathy is the canine form of ALS, an auto-immune neurologic disease that causes paralysis, starting in the rear and eventually moving forward.
