Without this simple tip, the auger only scratches the surface of the frozen ground. Jeff shows how to use the downriggers or rear stabilizers of a skid-steer to auger in frozen ground. He is using a Danuser HP-3060 to dig a 12 inch hole in 1:50 in ground with 2.5 feet of frost.
