Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh), May 20 (ANI): Tibetans are hopeful that United States President Donald Trump will continue with the tradition set by his predecessors and meet spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, said head of Tibetan government-in-exile, Lobsang Sangay, on Friday. Sangay’s comments came ahead of his three-day U.S. visit where he will meet leaders of Congress. The United States has long recognised Tibet as part of the People’s Republic of China, and does not back Tibetan independence. But that has not deterred all the recent U.S. presidents before Trump from meeting the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader.
