LACHSA Audition pieces performed for the class during the first two weeks of the school's opening in September 1985. John Waddell wanted the class to have the opportunity to see what level of talent each student had in order to gain acceptance into the school, and it was a great opportunity for each student to get to know each other & to get over any stage fright some may have had; it was an amazing time. This was the 1st year of the school's opening and only 10th & 11th grade students were admitted. No matter the level of talent upon entrance, each student's skill grew leaps and bounds as Mr. Waddell taught and molded this group of amazing students who blazed a path for the prestigious performing and visual Arts school. It was a magical time and I urge you to watch these and the latter year performances from these students in an effort to appreciate and grasp an understanding of the outstanding growth this talented group of 14-16 year old students achieved under the watchful eye of a most amazing teacher, John Waddell.
