www.whatissynchronicitythemovie.com This film clip, about an unexpected childhood gift, is from an interview with Bernard D. Beitman, M.D., former chair, Department of Psychiatry, University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a cast member of the upcoming feature documentary, "What Is Synchronicity?" which is now available through the web-site (DVD) or Vimeo (rent/download). Beitman is an award-winning psychotherapy teacher, and developer of the Weird Coincidence Scale (WCS-2), a measure of coincidence sensitivity. Using the WCS-2, he has defined some of the personality characteristics of coincidence-sensitive people. Most of us have had weird experiences we might call deja vu, serendipity or intuition. We may wonder if they have value, while we lack adequate words to discuss them. Psychiatrist C.G. Jung focused on meaningful coincidence, which he named "synchronicity." In "What Is Synchronicity?" we can discover meaning and purpose in our life stories that we didn't know were waiting for us.
