http://www.autobytel.com/cadillac/ats... The 2013 Cadillac ATS is a brand new model from Cadillac aimed at the entry level compact luxury car segment. This is one of the most important vehicles in Cadillac's history because for the first time Cadillac is offering a true competitor into the tough entry level luxury car market. Cadillac is America's only legitimate luxury brand and the ATS is set to battle the reigning champ: the BMW 3-Series. It's these entry level luxury cars that bring new buyers into the brand so the 2013 Cadillac ATS needs to be a hit.

With a starting MSRP of $33,095, the ATS is relatively affordable and provides a level of prestige that Chevy owners are looking for. The Cadillac ATS comes in either rear wheel drive or AWD configurations. There are 3 different engine choices being offered. The first engine is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder offered on the base model that produces 202 horsepower and 190 lb-ft. of torque. The second is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. The third engine option is a 3.6 liter V-6 that makes 321 horsepower and 274 lb-ft. of torque.

The 2013 Cadillac ATS offers a sporty ride while being styled for performance. Practically every luxury car maker has a vehicle in this entry level luxury market including BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, and Audi. The ATS is based on a new platform unique to this vehicle. The Cadillac CUE infotainment system works well and offers a great user experience.

Bottom line is the Cadillac ATS is solid but the styling looks dated. Since this is the first generation ATS, dependability and resale values are still in question. The best argument for buying a 2013 Cadillac ATS is that it is truly a new car, has great performance numbers, its made in America, and the price is 5-10% less than the big 3 from Germany.

I have to agree with on of the earlier comments. I own a BMW but the best looking design by far is the ATS in my opinion. The BMW is the one that looks dated. I think even the CTS's look more interesting. The 3 series looked fresh at first but now it looks much like every other 3 series. Having to explain why you didn't buy a BMW is a puzzling comment but there is an easy response. Drive both cars. ATS has much sharper handling, plenty of power and is more fun to drive. Cadillac interior is also much more upscale than the others as well and about even with Mercedes and Audi. Maybe 3 series is not what the segment is anymore.

Autobytel isn't shit. MotorTrend, The Smoking Tire, EverydayDriver, The Fast Lane Car, and even Car and Driver are all examples of REAL car enthusiasts with expert insight, which is evident in their car reviews. I suggest you go check out their videos evaluating this car; they give the car praise where it is due.

Well if it's those old Broughams with the 305/307s then yeah those will last pretty much forever but what about the STSs with the Northstars which account of most of their sales? They're rotting away somewhere with a blown head gasket and leaky oil seals and are worth next to nothing on the market plus they sucked anyway. I've seen quite a few old BMW 3 Series out on the road and tons of old MBZ, especially diesel ones.

There is ZERO proof that a German car lasts longer than an American car. In fact, here in America, we see 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 year old Cadillacs on the roads all the time. NEVER do we see 20 year old BMWs.

I am the reason the country is in a mess? I work, pay my ever growing taxes, managed to expand my finances through good investments and wish to purchase products that actually go the distance when it comes to the money spent on them. I guess companies aren't to blame or the Government I guess it's me, Djonkie Bonk!

The German car manufacturers also declared bankruptcy during WWII. 50,000 slaves from the concentration camps were used by BMW alone. One little 4 year old girl was raped so many times that her uterus was torn from its vaginal walls. People of ALL religious faiths were made to drink from the toilets at BMW's Hanover facility. Cadillac set them FREE! You don't forgive Cadillac though? YOU are the reason our country is in a mess. You are ignorant.

Well you still have to give credence to what is fact. If you heard the level of arrogance spewed by the CAW/UAW and the execs at Chrysler and GM you'd be appalled. Just remember those companies screwed customers for a long time and now that they start making good cars doesn't cut it for an apology. Maybe 20 years from now they will restore their image and then I might just buy but until then GM and Chrysler will always remain companies that screamed greed and screwed hard working customers.

You blame the general population for not being patriotic but what about the Big 3 which didn't really give a frack about the customer who works hard for their money? Rather they were smart and started driving imports which looked, performed and held up better than most domestic vehicles. I used to own domestic but will always drive import, I can't support some company that gave me and everyone else a big FU and just because now they roll out an excellent car.
