Hulachess explores themes of multitasking, the feminine, circular side of chess and the surprising parallels between chess and hooping. The chess moves are based on a game Duchamp lost against the Romanian master Davidescu. The video features a possible improvement by Duchamp, which would have led the game to perpetual check.
The video, shortlisted for Guggenheim's YouTube Play was created by chess champion and author Jennifer Shahade and filmmaker Daniel Meirom.
