In 2002 two-time Oscar nominee Richard Linklater wrote "Boyhood," a movie about the life of a boy, beginning at age six and extending well into his teens. He then filmed the movie over the following 12 years, letting his actors literally grow into their parts. The film may be an instant classic, but Linklater confesses to Bill Newcott that the whole project was "insane," reflecting on the challenges—and unexpected benefits—of tackling such an intimately epic project.
