Take a tour of Casablanca Inn in St. Augustine that is said to be haunted by ghosts.
Mrs. Bradshaw is what we call her, the resident ghost. Her boyfriend, Rand Rum right over here is where he use to come through from the ocean to the bay and she would go up on the roof and wave her lantern. Then one day he just did not come back, he never came back again. And, she waited and that is why people see her standing up on the roof with the lantern to this day.
This room seems to spook a lot of our housekeepers, some of the them do not like to come in here at all. They will have the beds all made, everything is nice and neat and clean and you walk in to check on them and there looks like a body in the bed. You fix it, straighten it all out, you come back a few minutes later, same thing, it looks like somebody has been in the bed. And, as you can tell right now it looks like someone has been sitting on the bed.
A little boy came to the front desk, he was staying upstairs in Room 11. In the middle of the night he woke up and he heard a voice, and the voice said to him do not be afraid, my name is Mr. Butler. Now there is no way that this little boy could have known who Mr. Butler is. Mr. Butler was the architect of the building.
This is the room where my housekeeper and I saw flying boxes of Kleenex and flying tablecloths and that is why we do not have tablecloths on these tables anymore. It was bad enough to scare us but when it scared the guests we decided to take the tablecloths off and leave them off. Apparently, Mrs. Bradshaw did not like them anyway, she kept throwing them off on the floor. We kid about it, we try to pretend that it is not real, but after you have seen enough you have to be a believer.
