When Daniel Kreps hung up his official title of investment banker, he knew it meant he was free to pursue his passions. And he did just that almost 9,000 miles away from home, in Jakarta, Indonesia, using the skills he had honed over four decades. His experience working in accounting, finance and human resources was the right match for the ingenuity and drive of two young Indonesians who had just started Ruma, a social enterprise dedicated to creating mobile phone-based business opportunities for poor women. He found his niche through Bankers without Borders® (BwB), Grameen Foundation's volunteer program for skilled professionals.
