This is footage of my group lesson on October fifth--my twenty-seventh birthday! We couldn't have had better weather; it was sunny with a light breeze. I really appreciated the opportunity to work Duncan with some "horse traffic." You can see that he got a little bit nervous about being passed head-on here and there, but that's it. This is a dramatic improvement from when I first got him, and I'm so proud of him! After that, we moved on to a warm-up jump, followed by the gymnastic you see here. Duncan's never done the gymnastic with bounce poles under saddle (he has done it free jumping), so it was a new experience. He handled it quite well. At the end, Loren and Threez and Duncan and I did some coursework--ending with my "birthday jump" set at 3'6! One of my friends had wanted a photo of me jumping for use in some kind of bday present (I can't wait to see what it is, Bri!), so Jim took pictures instead of video of the 3'6. After the lesson, I went to join Jen in the hunter ring to cool out. Thank you Loren, Lee Ann, and Carrie for your company in the ring, Katie for your fabulous instruction, Jim for filming, Brooke for your surprise visit, and Jen for always being there for me!
