This past July (2010) Roots & Shoots Youth Leadership Council members from around North America met at the Youth Leadership Training Retreat in New Orleans, LA. Participants worked together to create video interviews with residents of New Orleans and the surrounding communities in order to document the effects of the Gulf Oil Spill which occurred in April. These videos are now being used by the Louisiana Bucket Brigade as a part of their Oil Spill Crisis Map, a historical documentation of the spill.

In this video Youth Leadership Council members are shown how to take an air sample by a representative from the Louisiana Bucket Brigade. The air samples can then be tested for toxins so that people can learn what is in the air that they breathe.
