In this 9 day residency, Chang and Munn focused on sonic space, realized in a performance-installation that attempted to dissolve the fixed physicality of Quai des Charbonnages 34, replacing it with a transient auditory landscape of shifted spaces and rewound moments.
Sounds were plucked from their original context - bridge vibrations, horns and street ambience - and engaged with in real time, forming a series of incidental connections between these responses and the immediate environment: a collection of imagined and liminal places.
Munn and Chang also activated the surrounding architecture with presence and gesture, small actions and movements made throughout the stairways, rooftops, and rooms of the complex which highlighted a further, expansive acoustic. The audience then performed the final work as they moved through physical and sonic spaces, listening, imagining, and perceiving.
