Detroit rapper Big Sean drops a brand new free mixtape! Hey guys, you're watching ClevverMusic. Big Sean is one busy guy: he's finishing up his sophomore album AND working on G.O.O.D. Music's "Cruel Summer" LP, but in the meantime he's released a brand new mixtape of this own... for free. The Detroit rapper named the mixtape after his hometown, and is a follow-up to his "Finally Famous" mixtape series which wrapped up in 2010.
Big Sean told MTV News about the mixtape, "I really don't feel like I need to do a mixtape because I did three of them already. But after I came out with my album I always wanted to keep the fans, the believers intrigued and I promised them I'd do another mixtape." He went on to explain his logic, "...we've got new photos and new videos that we're not using for the album so we might as well give fans something for free."
A man of the people- we like it! "Detroit" features an all-star cast of guest collaborators including J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tyga and Chris Brown. Special "stories" included are by Common, Young Jeezy and Snoop Lion.
Big Sean tweeted about the mixtape this morning writing, "Thank u for listening... I work hard. Can't wait for ya'll to hear the album I've been working on, but for now bang the mixtape..."
You can download the mixtape yourself, we'll put a link to it in the description of this video. Did Big Sean do the right thing by releasing the mixtape two weeks before the big G.O.O.D. Music drop?!
