Dr. Shann Ray Ferch is a systems psychologist, an author and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellow. Dr. Ferch shares his thoughts on the complicated essentials to a full life. This is a thought provoking talk exploring the balance of love and power; the role of conflict, alienation, and lack of reconciliation in the misled life. Shann Ray's collection of stories American Masculine, was named by Esquire as "one of three books every man should read." He lives with his wife and three daughters in Spokane, Washington where he teaches leadership and forgiveness studies at Gonzaga University.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
