This border crossing was unlike any other I have done before. When Lauren and I pulled up to the line of cars our hearts sank as we could barely make out the border itself except for the lights. We waited over an hour to make it up to the crossing. We talked, listened to music, discussed Louis Riel's own border crossing (It was Louis Riel Day in Manitoba), and took plenty of bad video where Lauren refused to show her face and therefore recorded the back of the truck in front of us. We also yelled at cars and called them names as they flew by in the right hand lane and cut back in at the front. It was definitely not the most thrilling part of the trip, however we did manage to catch up to my mother and her friend Alice, who took a similar trip this past weekend, and even squeezed by them. Miraculously I didn't end up paying duty and Lauren and I were able to carry all of our new belongings into our homes without injury. Can't wait for next time.
