I got this recipe for this homemade protein treatment from self.com. It is suppose to promote strong, healthy and shiny hair. I shampooed and detangled my hair and applied the mixture to damp hair in sections. The mixture is very runny and messy so make sure you don't wear your favorite outfit and have towels handy. I covered my hair with a shower cap and went to the gym for about an hour. I rinsed and then applied a deep conditioner because my hair felt dry and straw like after.
I do not do protein treatment on any set schedule. Only as needed. I do strand tests to know what my hair is lacking.
