A massive turbine bound for the Holtwood hydroelectric plant entered Lancaster County today.

A two-lane-wide trailer carried the 150-ton turbine as it traveled uphill on Route 372 from the Susquehanna River after crossing the Norman Wood Bridge.

The turbine runner, the rotating part of a hydro turbine generator, traveled at a speed of 4 mph on its journey from York County.

The trailer was pulled by a "super" tractor, making the rig 100 feet long.
