Coptic Christians in Egypt warily observed their traditional Christmas in the midst of heightened security. A New Year's Day bombing at a church in Alexandria killed more than 20 worshippers. On several militant Islamic websites, al-Qaida has urged its followers to attack Coptic churches, and Egypt's government has pointed a finger at foreign terrorists.
