Today is July 3, 2016. Please keep Thomas Deegan in your prayers for Tuesday. On Friday, July 1, Thomas’s mother called Judge Reed’s office to see about the eventual return of Thomas’s personal property that was confiscated and by the way was never used as evidence against him. Perchance, Darlene was told that Thomas’s parole hearing at the Mt. Olive maximum prison was scheduled for Tuesday, July 5th. Today, July 3, his mother and I received calls from Thomas. This was my first communication from him since his transfer from Huttonsville medium security prison to Mt. Olive. It was only Darlene’s second, the first being Thomas’s arrival at Mt. Olive. Had Thomas not called us, he would have been unaware of the parole hearing for which he was supposed to have been notified about some three weeks ago so that he could prepare. He was glad that Darlene and I have been told we can attend the hearing. Gene Stalnaker, who was on Thomas’s list to attend the eventual parole hearing cannot attend as a state “driver’s license” is required. Thomas was moved from the infirmary to the Level 4/Level 5 segregation unit. Thomas is a Level 2 prisoner. This violation of policy has been their modus operandi since day one. Again, please keep Thomas in your prayers. Daniel showed us what can happen, even in the lion’s den. Phil Hudok www.hudok.info www.hudok.com
