I went along to Donington last winter to support my mate doing his first trackday in his newly completed Caterham. To my delight he offered me a chance to drive it at the end of his last track session. So I set off for about 4 laps. Obviously I wasn't throwing it about like it was my own but I found it was great to drive and the last lap was about 1min 31s. Which was the pace of the M3s and Elises that day. I found the handling was nice and predictable and the brakes felt good, But the Avon ZV3 tyres felt like they were made of wood!! (a Temperature of 4C didn't help them) My mate has since junked the tyres and fitted a sports exhaust so it should now be into the mid 1 min twenties which is 911 pace and remarkable for a car with 125bhp.
