110002 is the story of Kunwarpal, father of an eleven year old who has been missing since November 2010. For one year Kunwarpal has been running from pillar to post only to be left disappointed and empty handed.
Through Kunwarpal's search for his missing child 110002 documents the pain and misery of millions of such parents. It speaks about the trauma that they have to undergo each day of their lives in the hope that their loved ones would return some day.
110002 is a melancholy of those, who have lost their children. It is a story of helplessness and uncertainty. It is a tale of parents, who have no faith in their present and little hope about future.
The movie also reveals the lawlessness that prevails in the country. "Police do not really care. They say they have a lot to do. They are only interested in cases that could fetch them money."
Through his film Vivek is trying to raise awareness about the fact that children do not just disappear into thin air, rather they abducted; that the problem of missing children is that of child trafficking; and that the police do not only turn a blind eye towards such cases, but they are very much involved in organizing these crimes.
