After first shooting the still life (also called assembly required) for my book, CAN YOU SEE WHAT I SEE, I decided to try making an animation using a Nikon 990, one of the first digital cameras I owned. Sound was made by recording our manipulations of the bits of junk that I had been using as props for the still life. The squeaking sound of the robot's feet was made by recording the hinged cover of the mail slot on the door of my old studio. You can see more details here: http://bit.ly/behindthescenesrobot
