"Were they going to wait for the government to create a better way for them to age? Absolutely not."

Nearly 12,000 Americans turn 65 every day, the majority of whom aren't ready to leave their homes. Judy Willett discusses a common sense "neighbor helping neighbor" approach that started in Beacon Hill and has grown into an international Village movement that's making it possible for elders to continue to flourish in the communities in which they love to live.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
