Collector coin "The Garden of Destiny"

As of 22 June, a new 5 euro silver collector coin "The Garden of Destiny" will be on sale.
The Garden of Destiny is rising on an island in the Daugava River near Koknese, nurtured as the nation's present to Latvia on its centenary. The idea of the Garden of Destiny came as a response to a heartfelt desire of the people to create a national memorial site in honour of those 600 thousand people of Latvia who had suffered and perished during totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. Being a memorial place, the Garden of Destiny is also a source for inspiration and energy; may the silver coin serve the same purpose.
The graphic design of the collector coin was created by artist Frančeska Kirke, whereas the plaster model was prepared by artist Ligita Franckeviča.
The price of the coin is EUR 50.
