Is that supposed to change my mind or something? Funny how the right has the reputation of using religion push their political agenda but I keep seeing it happen a lot more on the left. I don't really give a fuck what Jesus thinks of my political views. I do know that he was JEWISH, not black though.

voernance is, at this time necessary to protect the less powerful from the powerful, but i do see what you mean and it is practical-one cannot legislate morality one can only educate and we seem seem to spend increasingly smaller on that...schools teach conformity and to not think and question everything. In fact it may teach us the opposite...conform and fit in by not standing out...that's be historically the common thread with great men...kicked out of school etc...teach kids is our only hope.

I saw somewher if yo gave each person living oday a half acre of land in AU, there'd be half of Victoria provence open. Meaning, this planet has food and water and other matrl to make life possible and I think is what all the religious bks say...profit is not Prophet and - profit motive is just a nice way of saying i want more than I need...thus it CREATE's (unintentional) scarcity...there is enough of the Necessities for @ starving/sick person in the world (billions of times over) - fear kills

and i say, Like Socrates and Aritstole on the eve of their deaths, Good Riddance-the Planet and all its speices (whom sare the smae dna (plants too) deserve better caretakers. Death shall be better for humans. I just hope it is not so for kids...the serve better too i do hope there is something better on the other side-we sure have been able to do better for the minds we have...but enjoy life in the ever-present-NOW. love.peace.thanks elzbeth...play w a kid today and show them it dsn't hv 2 be

The World As It IS: Noam Chomsky in his books-: Reflections on Propaganda. He reminds us that genuine intellectual inquiry is always subversive. It challenges cultural and political assumptions. It critiques structures. It is relentlessly self-critical. (contin)

(contin) It explodes the self-indulgent myths and stereotypes we use to elevate ourselves and ignore our complicity in acts of violence and oppression. And it makes the powerful, as well as their liberal apologists, deeply uncomfortable.

I think, judging by comments here, we are all doomed to the mistakes of history. We don't seem to learn fear fuels greed and hate-we haven't learned to be good neighbors (tolerant and open minded and CIVIL to each other though we disagree. Marco Polo lived 500 y ago but found it in his heart to not deride others for being different. We seem to have devoled to caveman times, sexist and no sense of equality...if wo these may be the last few lifetimes left for hmanity-insect will rule-paradise Lost

Sorry these replies are bkwrds...but i thiink there's a fully global participatory solution would ultimately be the best - see IOPS via google. Democracy, as founded by the greeks seem the best governance sytem todate. But it has been corupted by pers greed...the ide of for the people b y the people is lost to elected officials...4 yr judiciary...with several 4 year president for different regions...tricameral seems logical. thanks for making me think the last couple days...thanks!

I can agree as interim solution, but I think we are so close to some solutions its kinda maddening-i mean we have a great blueprint the Founding documents as well as Federal Papers and "common sense" by Payne, Magna Carta etc...even consider all the great religious text of the Far East and Middle Eats (Jew, Christ and Muslim) and technologies such as the internet AND great conversation and exchanges like the one we are having!

Why do people have an unswerving faith in the ability of govt 2 solve all the problems that plague humans? Why is this blind allegiance impervious 2 facts, logic &/or reason? Thoughts anyone? Think about this next time you take a # & stand in line 4 a transaction @ your local Bureau of Motor Vehicles or US Postal Office! Are govt workers really going 2 alleviate all the issues which exist w/in our health care system? Of course, there are REAL problems--where were the hearings on these issues?
