Can we count on Metro to educate our children and grandchildren for the future? How is education changing to meet the goals of a diverse population? The six sessions on public education offer a wide variety of presenters to cover the topics you want to know about. Topics include: issues in education from early childhood through high school; student performance today; educating Nashville' diverse student body (magnets, charters, academies, etc.); ensuring quality teachers and leaders; funding; viewing public education in Nashville and beyond. Speakers include Jesse Register (Director of Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools), Kevin Huffman (Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Education), top professors from Peabody/Vanderbilt and Lipscomb, as well as leaders in Nashville's public schools.
