An abstract fantasia in radio astronomy data, exploring how the same data sets can be rendered in very different ways and how this affects our interpretation of them. Purely art for art's sake with no attempt at science outreach here whatsoever. I'm fascinated by the idea of diffuse, fuzzy structures arising from sharp, discrete data, and how our mental perception is biased to convincing us that our view of the world is somehow more correct than others... even though it may very well not be. Full details of why this was made and how, along with Python scripts and .blend example files, can be found here : http://astrorhysy.blogspot.com/2018/0...
The music is Clint Mansell's theme to "Requiem for a Dream". A cliche, I know, but I don't care.
