It's estimated that US supermarkets with annual sales of more than $2 million, produce a total of over 350 million pounds of rigid plastics each year.

This film introduces rigid plastics recycling for grocery stores and why it is important.

Grocery stores have been traditionally great recyclers, especially in cardboard and film.

Recycling can reduce solid waste costs, increase revenue, green-up operations and showcase sustainability efforts.

Behind the scenes, in deli, bakery, seafood and pharmacy departments, considerable recyclable rigid plastics are generated and not currently being recycled.
Whether it's frosting buckets, salad containers, seafood trays, or pharmacy bottles, these are all good examples of recyclable rigid plastic containers.
